While everyone knows exactly what one means by “woke” or “progressive”, and images of screaming “karens” manifest the instant we hear them, the left is having a much harder time finding negative descriptors for its opponents.

Biden has twice tried to turn MAGA into a derogatory term, only to give rise to Trump followers proudly proclaiming their “Ultra MAGA” and “Dark MAGA” member status as they parody and mock the former vice president’s devisive rhetoric.

Those feeble attempts at assigning a nefarious atmosphere to the movement were the latest after the left began to realize that constantly calling people Nazis who clearly were not Nazis wasn’t going over well with undecided Americans.

…Calling them Nazis and racists turns off independents and moderates, who see it as slander. Referring to them as populists and Christian Nationalists just results in whatever negative connotations those terms previously had fading as conservative pundits are owning and highlighting the attractive positives in those movements.

We have to stick them with something accurate that can’t be spun. There is a magic label somewhere, we just have to search harder…or invent one.

The woke progressives are clearly frustrated at their own failure to label conservatives with a derogatory term that sticks. What they are missing is the fact that this isn’t a wizards’ duel where the correct words have to be uttered to cast a malevolent spell against the enemy.

The terms “woke” and “progressive” were adopted and assumed by the radical left themselves, not assigned by their opponents. Those terms have negative connotations because of their association with the radical left, not the other way round.

As usual, leftists are confused because their logic is bass-ackwards.

The defamatory names they call conservatives are rejected by the general public as hyperbolic, juvenile name calling. The less inflammatory labels they assign to conservatives eventually take on positive meaning because of the values and principles of conservatives.

The labels the left assigns to itself take on negative vibes because of the values and principles of the left.
