Three Wokemegos vs GCISD
Grapevine Colleyville Independent School District Trustee Becky St. John’s arrogance manifested itself clearly tonight. She insisted on making a public spectacle out of her personality conflict with other board members.
Whether people believe she spewed vitriol toward Kathy at the last meeting out loud or simply mouthed the words, her refusal to deal with it behind closed doors and insistence on exposing it to the public belies every previous claim she’s ever made about protecting the district’s reputation.
Reinforcing that manifestation, she also admitted to taking still pictures of an attorney for the board in a previous meeting and broadcasting them on social media claiming he was sleeping.
Jorge Rodriguez, another member of the Three Wokemigos, made the mistake of admitting he requested that the attorney in question be seated against the wall (DIRECTLY across from Becky, by the way) because he (Jorge) thought it was “a bad look” for the public to see that attorney possibly nodding off during the meeting.
That is a situation that begs two questions:
- Is Jorge such an incompetent coward he couldn’t bring himself to chat with the attorney and tell the guy to make sure he didn’t present as being disengaged during public meetings?
OR,
- Did Jorge set up the environment with his seating request specifically to give Becky an opportunity to snap some social media gold so they could use it to generate ridicule against other board members at (again) the expense of the district’s reputation.
Becky just sacrificed the public reputation of the district on the altar of her own hubris.
Jorge, meanwhile, is struggling to keep waving the palm fronds over her disintegrating public persona.
If you support these three out of some set of values and principles that you feel the board majority is against you should really think about recruiting some new candidates quickly.
The Three Wokemegos are going to be easy to beat in future elections now that they’ve shown they’ll happily chop the district into little pieces and make it a national laughing stock if they don’t get their way.
